Luxury Highland Tours & Executive Chauffeur Service

Intinerary Ideas

At Scenic Routes, we don't work to rigid and inflexible timetables. But what if you are unsure of what you want to do and see? Well, here are a few of our ideas to help get you thinking but remember, they are only suggestions.

loch ness

Loch Ness Tour

Usually a must see for the visitor to the Highlands. Allow us to show you the less frequented south side of the loch. Less traffic, less people, more of it to yourself – and if Nessie decides to make an impromptu appearance, well it will just add to the experience..

Highland Whisky Barrells

Whisky Tour

There are literally dozens of distilleries to visit that are only a short drive from Inverness. Even if you are not a whisky lover, it is still well worth a visit to see Scotland's national drink being produced and with the designated driver already in situ, there is no need to worry about being “over the limit”.

Culloden Plaque

Outlander Tour

This is another highly popular choice especially amongst fans of the Outlander series based upon the Diana Gabaldon novels. Walk on the moor where the last battle on British soil took place. Visit the Graves of the Clans, the Cumberland Stone and the Well of the Dead – not to mention the 5-star Visitor Centre. A very atmospheric and emotional visit.

Just a short drive from the Battlefield are the ancient Clava Cairns – over 4000 years of history, just off the beaten track!

Scottish Ancestry Sign

Scottish Ancestry Tour

Many visitors come to Scotland to trace their roots. Maybe you are descended from a family that was cleared from their land in the 18th Century? A trip to the Strathnaver museum in the far north is one of the best places to explore this controversial chapter in Scottish history.

Tours from Invergordon

For those of you arriving on a cruise ship at the Port of Invergordon, why not contact me to show you around. You will only be in the Highlands for a few hours so let me help you make the most of your stay. The luxury you are used to aboard ship need not cease when you come ashore.

Moray Firth Dolphins playing

Dolphins of the Moray Firth

The Moray Firth is home to nearly 200 wild bottlenose dolphins, one of only two such colonies in the United Kingdom . The best place to view them from is Chanonry Point where you can watch them frolic in the water. Visit the Dolphin Centre in North Kessock to learn more about them. I can also make arrangements for you to get up close in a specially chartered boat. Seals and Harbour porpoises are also regularly spotted in the area.

Skye Bridge

Tours to Skye

The Isle of Skye, long since the basis of folklore and mystery - is now linked to the mainland of Scotland by an impressive bridge making it easily accessible for a day trip from Inverness . Visit Dunvegan Castle with it's magical Fairy Flag or spend time hiking in the Cuillin Hills which have been designated one of the National Scenic Areas of Scotland. The Five Sisters of Kintail can also be seen on our route. Whilst I can't guarantee the weather, not for nothing is it known as the Misty Isle, I can promise you spectacular views on the journey and needless to say, midgie repellant will be provided if necessary.

These few examples are just scratching the surface. Please contact me if you have your own requirements or would like to discuss ideas or options.
