Moray Firth Dolphins

Dolphins of the Moray Firth

The Moray Firth is home to nearly 200 wild bottlenose dolphins, one of only two such colonies in the United Kingdom . The best place to view them from is Chanonry Point where you can watch them frolic in the water. Visit the Dolphin Centre in North Kessock to learn more about them. I can also make arrangements for you to get up close in a specially chartered boat. Seals and Harbour porpoises are also regularly spotted in the area.

These marine mammals are a wonderful sight but being wild there is no guarantee of seeing them. Usually the best time is 2 hours before high tide.

The best place to see them is a narrow spit of land called Chanonry Point on the Black Isle, you may also be lucky and see Common seals too.
